Diane Valahu ~ 6th level graduate, 2001

Diane Valahu is currently a freshman at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. She is majoring in Biology and Spanish.

Valahu was the highest ranking graduate of the senior class from Vanguard College Preparatory School in May 2007. While a student at Vanguard, she was a member of the National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society serving as Vice President, National Honor Roll for outstanding academic achievement, and the National Society of High School Scholars. During her senior year, she received the Principal's Leadership, the Shinin Star and the Viking Shield Awards. During her junior year, she was class president and member of Mu Alpha Theta Honorary Math Club. She also received the Kodak Young Leaders and Bausch & Lomb Honorary Sceience Awards. Valahu received special academic recognition for excellence in Chemistry, Biology, Algebra, Calculus, Engilish and Spanish.

Claude Valahu, Diane's mother stated that "Waco Montessori School opened the fascinating world of Science, language and mathematics, and above all, taught Diane how to think, reason and solve problems on her own."
